Rate My Builder has been created as a website to showcase the “good” builders of NZ. So often we hear about the “dodgy” builders, but we seldom hear people talking about the fantastic side of building and the beautiful homes they now live in.

The most common complaint that was observed after consumers built their homes was that they lacked in having the relevant information prior to undertaking the building process. So this became prevelant to the wordings of Rate My Builder. Understanding some of the basic building language and wordings prior can potentially solve problems down the track if communication isn’t so wonderful.

We want people to be proud of building, and have the builders and their companies more accessible to consumers within one site, so those who are usually harder to get hold of, or find information about, have it all available on the one traceable site.

A good 7 months was spent on creating Rate My Builder, after having the first hand experience of a dreadful building incident, then having to employ a new (and fantastic) building company to completely rebuild the home. This website became about turning the negative build into a positive building experience. An awareness of the great Builders of New Zealand was created.

Rate My Builder will hopefully prevent consumers from being “sucked in” from builders who are incapable of fulfilling their building obligations and ultimately costing consumers a lot of stress and unnecessary costs.

“Good builders are out there, and they are out there by the dozen, the sad thing is that we never get to showcase them in a good manner unless they are winning awards, this is to help them and consumers alike”.
